Role of Nurses

According to the consortium of health science in 1989 comprised of the nurse's role:

1. As a provider of nursing care

The role of nurses can be done with regard to the situation of basic human needs is needed through the provision of nursing services. The provision of nursing care was carried out from simple to complex.

2. As a client advocate

The role of nurses is done in assisting clients & kelg in interpreting a variety of information providers, especially in making agreement on nursing actions. Nurses also play a role in defending & protecting the rights of patients

3. As an educator

This role is performed by assisting clients in raising the level of knowledge of health, disease symptoms are given so that the action even change the behavior of clients after health education.

4. As coordinator

This role is performed by directing, planning and organizing health services from the health care team so that health providers can be directed and in accordance with client needs.

5. As a collaborator

This role is performed because nurses working through the health team consisting of doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists etc. to try to identify the necessary nursing services.

6. As a consultant

The nurse acts as a place to hold a planning consultation, cooperation, systematic & directional changes in accordance with the method of delivery of nursing services

7. As a reformer

Nurses hold planning, collaboration, systematic & directional changes in accordance with the method of delivery of nursing services
